Fiber Glass Roofing Tissue (Voil)
Roofing tissue is one of the principal raw materials used in waterproofing membranes, where it serves as the carrier and reinforcement. Its key properties include corrosion resistance and bitumen absorption. Longitudinal glass-fiber yarns are incorporated into the tissue to increase longitudinal tensile strength and tear resistance. Waterproofing membranes manufactured with this fiberglass tissue do not readily crack, degrade, or rot. Other important properties include uniform mass distribution across the surface and resistance to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight.
Roofing tissue is available in basis weights from 50 to 100 g/m².
